Twiss Green Community Primary School, Warrington
Twiss Green Community School is very proud of its children, staff, governors and wider school family. The school is a special place where the children are happy and feel safe and valued. They strive for an environment where the children enjoy learning, celebrate their achievements and are encouraged to take pride in themselves and all that they do. Fostering a strong partnership with families is a key foundation to their approach and they encourage parents’ support of their children’s learning and to sharing their successes. They live out their vision, ‘Achieving, Caring and Growing Together,’ through their 3Rs: Respect, Resilience and Relationships and support everybody in our school community to achieve their fullest potential while they are with them.

The Brief
An existing trim trail had been condemned so the school wanted to remove it, along with the wetpour surface, and replace it. They wanted to put a new surface down so that the new equipment could be used all year round. The equipment would be used by Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, for this reason they decided to go with our standard trim trail range rather than the EYFS trim trail range which would be too small and not challenging enough for the children in Year 1 and 2.
The Project
The project began with a meeting at the school to discuss their specific needs, this was followed by a couple of design options, each one showcasing the different trim trail items available for the school to pick and choose from. Initially the school was going to carry out their own removals, however, after getting a quotation for the work, they decided to use ESP Play for those too. Once the design was finalised, the installation date was scheduled. The team installed the intermediate balance beam, rope traverse zag, spinning log, rope traverse, wobbly bridge, log steps and the log pass along with artificial grass surfacing. The entire project was carried out for only £12,000.
The Outcome
The children now have safe and compliant new equipment that they can access and use all year round. They can learn, develop and improve many skills such as balance, co-ordination, grip, strength, upper body and chest muscles and all through fun and active play!
Mrs Hughes the Headteacher said “we are more than happy with the installation and the children are thoroughly enjoying using it at break times. We would be happy to recommend ESP”.
