Project Brief.

Sarah had previously sought the services of a contractor to supply and install artificial grass to facilitate year-round use of the space. Unfortunately, the existing installation had been poorly executed resulting in premature failure of the artificial grass.

The nursery engaged with ESP to discuss enduring surface solutions which would be suitable for toddlers and withstand the rigours of daily use of up to 60 children. The client also required a structure that would enhance on site provision for physical development.

Project delivery.

The play space was excavated and ground levels were consolidated with MOT stone to provide a solid foundation and to aid drainage. Our 40mm pile height artificial grass was installed coupled with an age appropriate (2-4yrs) bespoke play tower.

Project Outcome.

Sarah was naturally hesitant to use artificial grass again but is delighted with the finished results. The play space is now flat/ level & free of any standing water. The new play tower has been a huge success and has afforded the children lots of opportunity to self-initiate their own play.

Off the back of the success of this project, Sarah has secured our services for a development at her other nursery setting in Scraptoft
