Starbank School – Birmingham – Star Academies Trust

Starbank School is a a superb example of playground equipment for schools.

ESP PLAY, through Arcadis Consulting, was invited to submit a tender for the execution of playground works. Adhering to a specified framework for the redevelopment of the EYFS and Key Stages 1 & 2 play areas at Starbank School. This was a whole school development with a budget of £150,000.

The tender submission was based on a lump sum fixed price, with a two-week turnaround time from the receipt of the invitation to the submission deadline.

It was a condition of tendering that contractors are fully conversant with the requirements of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and successful Contractor will be appointed as Principal Contractor for the purposes of the regulations.

Following on from closed bids, was an opportunity to pitch ESPs proposition as part of the tender evaluation process. Following on from this exercise ESP PlLAY were successfully awarded the contract in full.

The finished result sees a total transformation of the outdoor environment at Starbank School. The installation has been received by all stakeholders and pupils as a resounding success. ESP Play were delighted to be appointed for the project, working collaboratively with Arcadis Consulting, Star academies Trust and senior leaders at Starbank School.
