Leyland St. James’ Nursery, Lancashire
The Nursery’s aim is to promote and provide a positive, all inclusive, friendly, stimulating and healthy environment, where children can learn and develop through play in a safe and secure setting. They understand that children can learn everywhere; they support each child to become creative, motivated and lifelong independent learners through play that is free-flow, allows risk taking, experimentation and awe and wonder in a creative and outstanding environment.

The Brief
The nursery wanted to add a piece of climbing equipment into their outdoor area and it had to be suitable for children aged between 2 and 4 years old. They wanted a play tower because they felt it most suited their aim which is to allow the children to learn through free-flowing play. They had an area of rubber mulch surfacing where they had already removed some old equipment which had left holes in the surfacing that also needed to be repaired.
The Project
ESP Play created a design proposal for the nursery, it included our Mackenzie Play Tower. The Mackenzie Play Tower includes a range of features such as a tunnel, fireman’s pole, slide, scramble net, wobbly bridge and more! Instead of simply patching up the holes in the existing surfacing we went the extra mile for our customer and surfaced the whole area for them at no extra cost.
The Outcome
The nursery now has a great piece of equipment that encourages physical activity. The Mackenzie Play Tower is challenging yet allows the children to develop much needed gross and fine motor skills. The equipment adds a show stopping feature to the entrance of the nursery that will no doubt impress future prospective parents. The nursery was very happy with the installation and said they would not only use us again but recommend us to other nurseries too.
