Keeley, the School Business Manager at James Brindley Community Primary School called ESP Play after seeing the equipment we had previously installed at St Paul’s C of E Primary in Worsley, Manchester. Keeley loved the equipment so much that she wanted to have the same installed at her school so she booked a free consultation with us.

Our consultant met with both Keeley and Laura, the schools KS1 and KS2 Lead, they showed her an area of natural grass in the KS2 playground that they wanted to utilise. They wanted to add some climbing equipment to the playground for the KS2 children to use, the equipment they had seen at the local school was our Freeflow range that is completely unique to ESP Play.

Freeflow is a modular design with lots of different climbing elements to choose from, you can choose rubberised or netted platforms as well as how many platforms you want to include, different platform heights and you can also keep extending it over phases. Each element links the platforms together to create a much more “free flowing” concept than the alternative, more traditional, trim trail equipment. There are pre-designed packages or you can create your own bespoke adventure. We have a cut and paste builder kit available to download on our website so that you can get the children involved in designing their new equipment.

Keeley and Laura wanted a four column Freeflow, they decided to include the wobbly log trail, jungle bridge, tyre bridge and spider web traverse, all of which are among the most popular choices. They also wanted the pupils to be able to use the equipment all year round and decided on an artificial grass safety surface. Our consultant suggested that we swap out the standard red ropes for blue ones to match the school colours too.

The school were really happy with the first design they received, they especially loved the QR code we added to it to really showcase the design in 3D. They placed their order with us on the 10th of May and our installers began work at the school on the 19th of June, the project was completed by the 23rd of June and the installation only took five days from start to finish.

As a result, the school now has some challenging climbing equipment that encourages physical activity whilst also being fun and enjoyable for the children.

Laura said “We have found working with your company to be a pleasure and the children are thoroughly enjoying using the new equipment. Next year we will potentially be looking to create something similar on our back playing field so we’ll no doubt be in touch about that.”

We can’t wait to work with them again.
