KS2 Gym Equipment Installation at Hempstead Junior School, Gillingham
Location: Gillingham, South London
School Brief
A returning customer contacted us to develop a new outdoor gym area for their Key Stage 2 pupils. Having previously worked with us, they came back based on the strength of their past experience, and the quality and service they had received. Their goal was to create a space that supported physical activity and outdoor learning, while remaining age-appropriate and in keeping with the natural feel of the wider school grounds.
Budget
The school allocated a budget of £16,000 for the project. We were pleased to deliver the full installation under the budget, offering excellent value while meeting all of the school’s requirements.
Design Priorities
The design focused on introducing a range of gym equipment suitable for KS2 children. A key priority was to include enough units to allow at least eight pupils to use the space at the same time, promoting active play and shared use. The school also wanted the equipment to blend well with its surroundings, which led to the choice of mulch surfacing that complemented the outdoor setting.
What We Delivered
We installed six pieces of gym equipment in total. This included one triple-use unit and two double-use units, allowing up to eleven children to use the area simultaneously. The layout was carefully considered to ensure free movement and safe interaction between pupils while offering a variety of activities to keep them engaged.
Timeline
The project was completed during the Easter holidays. This allowed us to carry out the full installation without disruption to the school day and ensured the area was ready for use when the children returned for the new term.
What the Customer Said
“We returned to this company because we’ve always had a great experience. The installation went smoothly, the quality is excellent, and the children love the new equipment. It’s great to have something that gets them moving and fits so well with the space.”
