The Headteacher contacted us as the school wanted to provide an open-ended climbing structure, suitable for KS1 & 2 users, complete with all-weather safety surfacing. An important consideration was the play equipment's design aesthetics were sympathetic to the woodland zone and where possible, supported learning in the forest school setting. ESP's clamber stack structures from our tangled range is the obvious choice when enhancing woodland spaces with physical play.

A bespoke clamber stack climbing frame installed at Gotherington Primary School in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The Headteacher contacted us as the school wanted to provide an open-ended climbing frame. This needed to be suitable for KS1 & 2 users, complete with all-weather safety surfacing.

The existing grass became  unusable in wet weather  and the playground equipment was at the end of it’s life.

An important consideration was to ensure the play equipment’s design aesthetics were sympathetic to the woodland zone. The school also wanted to support learning in the forest school setting.

ESP PLAY’s clamber stack structures from our tangled range is the obvious choice when enhancing woodland spaces with physical play. The major constraint at Gotherington Primary School was specifying a solution which maximised their budget. Unlike other contractors who were invited to quote, we proposed a bespoke clamber stack which best utilised the available footprint. This also eliminated the prospect of removing trees and shrubs.

The pupils are thrilled with their new climbing frame. Not only does it provide endless hours of climbing and scrambling opportunities, with the inclusion of drapes and tarpaulins, the flexible structure has provided den building opportunities. The clamber stack unit is defined with woodland blend bonded rubber mulch surfacing. This primarily serves to protect the ground from high levels of footfall and supports year-round accessibility.

Kate Langley the Head Teacher has now appointed ESP PLAY for two projects. She wouldn’t hesitate to work with us again in the future or recommend our products and services to other schools.
