Broadoak Primary School was originally two separate schools. The Junior school opened in June 1970 and the Infant school in April 1972. The two schools were amalgamated in September 1992 to become Broadoak Primary School. The purpose built nursery unit was added later and opened in September 1997. They currently have 476 children on roll! Their aim is to provide all children with meaningful and engaging learning experiences that will prepare them for life in the 21st century.
Looking to develop an area for KS1 children, we were contacted by the school business manager to offer support and guidance on a trim trail project.
They initially wanted to artificial grass the area but there were a lot of protruding tree roots so we explained that we may have to add rubber mulch to the areas around the trees and where the roots are protruding to provide the best finish. The school were happy with the for us to do what we thought was best and appreciated the advice.
The completed 7 piece trim trail project includes a mix of challenges all laid to a green rubber mulch surface. The space has been transformed with high quality equipment that will last for many years.
