Owl Play Tower
The Owl Play Tower from ESP is a twin-tower climbing structure designed for sites that need a genuine physical challenge from their play equipment, not just a slide with steps attached.
Two pitched-roof towers form the core of the unit, connected at deck level and served by a range of routes up. A stainless steel slide gives a fast, weather-resistant descent that stays usable year-round and stands up to heavy public traffic. Around the towers sit an angled scramble net with timber footholds, green mesh climbing panels set into the frame, and a rope traverse strung between posts that asks children to commit to their balance across an open span. A stepped timber platform gives access from the far side, so groups can circulate through the structure rather than queuing at a single entry point. Beneath the raised decks, the open timber framing creates natural den and shade space for quieter play.
Structural components are produced from laminated timber, engineered for dimensional stability. Laminated sections resist the twisting, splitting and surface checking that degrade solid round timber over time, so the Owl holds both its appearance and its structural performance through years of continuous outdoor use with reduced maintenance demand.
The Owl is manufactured in the UK, giving specifiers shorter lead times, direct technical support and full material traceability. It is fully compliant with BS EN 1176 and supplied with the documentation needed for inspection and sign-off.
Suited to local authority parks, school playgrounds, nurseries and residential development open space, the Owl Play Tower delivers high play value across a compact footprint, working either as a standalone centrepiece or as part of a wider scheme.
