Mouse Play Tower
The Mouse Play Tower is a single-tower timber climbing frame designed to bring children of different ages and abilities together through a choice of three access routes. Each route offers a different level of challenge, from an accessible set of stairs to a more demanding overhead suspended net, allowing children to choose how they want to climb and giving them plenty of reasons to keep coming back.
The three access points create a natural progression of challenge. The stairs provide the easiest route to the raised platform, making the Mouse easily accessible to children who are still developing their climbing confidence. The ladder offers a medium level of challenge, requiring more balance, coordination and determination. For children looking for something harder, the overhead suspended net provides a more demanding route that tests grip, strength and body control as they make their way upwards.
That variety makes the Mouse particularly effective at bringing different children into the same piece of school playground equipment. Younger or less confident children can use the stairs and watch others tackle the more difficult routes, while older or more adventurous children can challenge themselves on the ladder and suspended net. Children can choose their own level of difficulty without needing separate equipment for different ages or abilities.
Once on the raised platform, the tower becomes a natural place for children to socialise and play together. Friends can arrive by different routes and meet at the top, while children of different ages and confidence levels can share the same play space. The Mouse therefore combines physical challenge with opportunities for communication, cooperation and informal social interaction, making it a valuable addition to inclusive outdoor play spaces.
This makes the Mouse a versatile choice for nursery spaces, primary school playgrounds and community parks. Its single-tower format keeps the equipment compact, while the three access routes give it the variety of a much larger play structure. It works particularly well in settings where encouraging inclusive, shared play is just as important as providing physical challenge and opportunities for children to develop their confidence.
The Mouse is constructed from laminated timber and manufactured in the UK. Laminated sections resist the warping, twisting and splitting common to solid timber, holding their form through years of weather exposure. The result is a structure that needs limited maintenance, keeps whole-life costs down, and is manufactured in full compliance with EN1176 playground safety standards — giving specifiers, developers and site managers confidence from installation onwards.
