Jungle Bars for Early Years
Give little climbers their first taste of hand-over-hand adventure with the ESP Jungle Bars for Early Years. Part of our early years trim trail range, these child-sized monkey bars have a row of smooth steel rungs set into a solid timber frame. Step-up blocks at each end let children reach the bars by themselves.
Hand Over Hand
Children climb onto the step block, reach up to grip the first rung and swing forward, moving hand over hand along the bars to the other side. Beginners can hang, swing and drop down safely, or try one or two rungs at a time, while more confident children work on crossing the full length. Every attempt builds strength and determination, and making it all the way across is a proud moment.
Building Strength and Coordination
Hanging and swinging along the bars develop grip strength, upper body and shoulder strength, coordination and core stability. These are important foundations for pencil control, climbing and sport. Planning each reach also builds rhythm, timing and body awareness, while trying again after a drop teaches resilience.
Sized for Little Learners
The Early Years Jungle Bars are set at a lower height than standard monkey bars, so young children can reach the rungs from the step blocks and drop down safely onto suitable surfacing. They're designed for nursery, reception and infant-aged children.
Building Towards Bigger Challenges
As children grow in strength and confidence, they can progress to the Jungle Bars – Intermediate. Combine the Early Years Jungle Bars with the Early Years Balance Beam, Incline Balance Beam, Log Weave, Rope Traverse and EYFS Log Pass to complete your early years trim trail.
Built to Last
A solid round timber frame, durable steel rungs and secure fixings are designed for busy daily use outdoors. Like all ESP equipment, it's manufactured and installed to BS EN 1176.
