ESP Selected to Deliver Exciting New Outdoor Play Area at The NEC in Birmingham

ESP PLAY is delighted to announce that we were the chosen playground supplier to design, supply, manufacture and install the brand-new outdoor play area at the NEC in Birmingham. As one of the UK's most iconic venues, hosting millions of visitors every year, the NEC required a play space that would inspire families, complement its surroundings and stand the test of time and we were proud to bring that vision to life.
The Playground Project
At the heart of the new play area is a striking selection of timber play towers, each packed with exciting and engaging activities to challenge and delight children of all ages. From climbing features and tactile play elements to imaginative routes between platforms, the towers encourage adventurous, active play that builds confidence, coordination and creativity. Complementing the towers is a brand-new timber trim trail, offering a series of physical challenges that promote balance, strength and agility. Set across freshly installed safety surfacing, the trail provides a safe yet stimulating environment where children can test their skills and burn off energy in the great outdoors. The natural timber aesthetic was carefully chosen to blend seamlessly with the landscaped surroundings of the NEC, creating a play area that feels organic, welcoming and perfectly in keeping with its environment. The result is a beautiful outdoor space that enhances the venue rather than competing with it. This new facility offers families a wonderful place to pause, relax and enjoy some fresh air, whether they are visiting the exhibition centre for the day, attending an event or staying overnight in one of the on-site hotels. Children can play freely while parents unwind nearby, making the experience of visiting the NEC even more memorable. The new play area is a fantastic addition to the NEC's visitor attractions, and ESP PLAY are thrilled to have played a part in delivering it.
