Danson Primary originally started life as Little Danson, comprising a few wooden buildings, in the early 1930s. The school name originates from the famous Danson House, dating from the late 18th century as the school stands on land which once formed part of its estate.  The current school opened in 1952 as a two-form entry school and this was expanded in 2018 to become a three-form entry school to continue to serve the growing local community.

They are a popular three form entry school with a breakfast and after school club provision.  The school is nestled beside Danson Park, where the children regularly frequent throughout the year.  They have extensive grounds for the children that are used throughout the course of the day.

Our grounds have continued to be enhanced with the addition of a new MUGA (Multi-use Games Area), Adventure Activity Area, seating areas and playground markings.

We have an enthusiastic, experienced and committed staff, who strive to support our pupils ‘to be the very best that they can be’.  We are fortunate to have a specialist music teacher, sports coaches and art tuition for our children.

We are proud of our academic successes.  The number of pupils achieving a Good Level of Development (GLD) and the expected standard at the end of Key Stage 1 and 2 has been consistently higher than the national average since 2013.

The teaching staff team deliver exciting approaches to learning and teaching ensuring our pupils have a broad and balanced range of opportunities by which to foster the development of positive, responsible attitudes towards learning alongside the development of personal and social skills.  At Danson there is an expectation of high academic achievement, we encourage creativity and cater to a personalised approach to learning.
